A total of 104 new town homes will soon be built in Ardmore and are expected to be leased by March of next year.
Oklahoma Property Managers President and Milestone Homes CEO Lance Windel is coordinating  three separate projects with FDG Architects, who will construct the residences. Windel said the two-to-three bedroom townhomes will range from 875 to 1,300 square-feet.
Sixty of the townhomes are
being built in Hickory Ridge near Travertine and Kings Roads, according to Windel. Twenty-two are being built northwest of Cafe Alley near the downtown, and another 22 are being built near the Commerce St. Homeland Grocery and Pharmacy.
Windel said the townhomes on the way in Hickory Ridge will be a gated community called Lake Shore Landing. Both Ardmore Development Services Director Jessica Scott and Windel said Plainview ISD played a big role in deciding to develop in Hickory Ridge.
“I had that tract of land already owned, it’s in the Plainview school district and it was zoned appropriately,” Windel said. “It just makes sense to develop out there.”
Scott said the townhomes introduce a home style previously unseen in Hickory Ridge.
“There hasn’t been this much development in this area over there -- all of the homes have been single family,” Scott said. “This is the first newer, larger development in that area to meet the high demand for Plainview ISD.”
