Services for Earl William “Bill” Engelhardt of Duncan, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at the Asphaltum Assembly of God Church north of Ringling with Dan Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at the Dixie Cemetery with military honors. Services are under the direction of the Comanche Funeral Home of Comanche, Okla.
Earl passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, in Lawton, Okla. The son of Peter and Leila Engelhardt, he was born on Aug. 13, 1928, in New Berlin, Wis. Earl’s 22-year military career began when he was 16 years old and included the Merchant Marines, the U.S. Army and the Air Force. He met and married Florence O. Stepp on June 9, 1950, and raised five children: Stephen, Wade, Diane, David and Donna. In December 1991, Earl and Florence moved to Beaver Point at Lake Waurika. After her death in 2015 he moved to Duncan, Okla.,  where he lived until his death.
 Earl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence; son, Wade; four brothers; four sisters; daughter-in-law, Geralyn Engelhardt; great-grandson, Jaxon Scott; and great-great-granddaughter Kora Ryan.
 Survivors include sons, Stephen of Decatur, Texas, David and wife, Tommie of Wilson, Okla.; daughters, Diane Ryan of Duncan, Okla., Donna Cobb and husband, Glenn of Waxahachie, Texas; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; one brother; one sister; three sisters-in-law; and three brothers-in-law.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Ryan, Russell Engelhardt, Eric Engelhardt, Debra Engelhardt, Dillan Young and Ethan Ryan. Honorary bearers are Joseph Engelhardt and Jakob Frye.
Family visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at Comanche Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn. or their charity of choice.
