With God, infinite grace has once again plucked another flower of his, Mrs. Marva June Monroe on Dec. 14, 2017, at 6:18 p.m. She had her family at her bedside while at Mercy Memorial Hospital.
Marva was born on July 9, 1941, to Roosevelt and Lizzie (Peevy) Monroe in Leigh, Okla. She lived 76 years, five months and five days.
Marva worked at Lake Murray Lodge for many years before retiring from Days Inn.
Marva attended school at Leigh, Okla., with her brothers and sister before residing in Ardmore. She was a loving and giving person who always made joy in her presence of others. She watched basketball, football and her soap opera.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors who will forever cherish her memory include her daughter, Debra (Wilbon) Franklin; three sons, Stefan, Darrell (Velma) Monroe and Gerald (Maggie) Monroe; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roosevelt Monroe Jr. of Plainview, Texas and Ralph Cannon of Phoenix, Ariz.; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as her very close friends Loretta Forbes and Rubye Gates of Ardmore. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 21, 2017, at Corinth Baptist Church, Ardmore.
