Funeral services for Patricia Ann Tompkins have been set for 10 a.m. Friday in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory conducted by Rev. Morgan Ashworth. Burial in the Duncan Cemetery, Duncan, Oklahoma will be at 2 p.m.
A time of visitation and support for family and friends will be Thursday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Patricia was born January 5, 1949, at Mannsville, Arkansas to the late William Auther Gray and Sarah Mae VanBuskirk Gray. The family lived for a time in Drumright before moving to Velma and then to Fox, Oklahoma, for her Junior and Senior years in school and vocational technical training. She graduated from Fox High School in the class of 1967.
She and the love of her life, Jerry Tompkins, Sr., were married July 1967. He preceded her in death September 3, 1995.
Patricia had retired from Beetle Plastics at the Ardmore Air Park as a fabricator. She also owned and operated a cafe, Pat’s Place, in Wilson, Oklahoma, and was a cook for several nursing homes. A kind and gentle person, Patricia often invited strangers into her home, which gave them a place to eat and rest.
Following a struggle with ill health, Patricia passed away December 19, 2017 at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 14 days; she will be missed but not forgotten.
Patricia’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She is survived by her daughter, Latricia Dee Wesley and husband, Doug of Ardmore; five grandchildren, Kristy, Jonathon and Sarah Hacker, Eric Tompkins, Jr. and Skyler Wesley; four great-grandchildren, Bralynn Perry, Landon Perry, Emma Wesley and Kinsley Houchin; three sisters, Nancy Wiggins, Fondella Davis and husband, Wiley and Letha Parker and her brother, Melvin Gray.
In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry Donald Tompkins, Jr. and Eric Keith Tompkins, Sr.
