Tamila Rene (Ashworth) Rucker, 53, was called home by her Lord and Savior, Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at the Lone Grove residence of her parents, Morgan and Dorothy Ashworth.
Born at Rising Star, Texas, April 3, 1964, Tammy lived her early years in Brownwood, Texas, where she started school.  At the age of 7, while attending a G.A. Camp she came to know the Lord.  The family later moved to Merkel, Texas, where she graduated from Merkel High School, the class of 1982, and then attended Cisco Junior College.
After marrying she moved to Germany and was a security guard for the U. S. Army.  She was awarded a medal and commendation from the government of Germany for guarding prisoners from Kosovo.
After returning to the United States, Tammy moved to Lampasas, Texas, where she had a second family.  She worked as a Pharmacy Tech for seven years and then began college studies to get a degree as a Vet Tech. Tammy loved animals, and adopted many rescue dogs.  
Tammy enjoyed riding her Harley-Davidson motor cycle and playing pool in the city leagues, her team went to Las Vegas several times.
Tammy laughed a lot, loved life and faced each day with a smile on her face.   Tammy is survived by her mother, Dorothy Ashworth and father, Reverend Morgan Ashworth; two brothers, Morgan Ashworth, Jr. and Christopher Ashworth: four nieces and five nephews of Moore, Oklahoma; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and many special friends in Lampasas, Texas.
Reverend Don Clark will officiate funeral services at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory.
 A time of visitation and support for family and friends has been set for Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
