Late Saturday, Ardmore police reported to the scene of an alleged failed robbery that took place at an area business in the 700 block of Lake Murray Drive East. Today, officers are asking for assistance from the public in identifying the man they believed attempted the bumbled heist.
Security cameras show a black man, possibly in his mid-30’s, standing between 5’9 to 6-feet tall wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans with dark shoes. The man is also believed to have facial hair, possibly a full beard, which is partially visible in images taken from surveillance videos.
“The only thing we have to go on is that picture,” Capt. Keith Ingle, Ardmore PD said. “We hope that someone can help us identify the guy.”
The alleged robber was believed to be brandishing a hand gun, though no description of the weapon is available.
Ingle said the initial reports show that the suspect left without taking any money and that no one was injured in the incident which is still under investigation.
Anyone with information that might help officers identify the suspect is encouraged to call the Ardmore Police Department at (580) 223-1212.
