The annual Ardmore Holiday Classic basketball tournament.

This year’s event will begin today with six teams participating in the girls tournament, which will be contested in a round-robin format. 

The No. 3 Ardmore Lady Tigers will enter the tournament with an overall record of 6-0, as they will be taking on four other teams from Texas including Denison, Van, Godley, Lake Country Christian, along with Douglass from Oklahoma.

The action will begin today at 12:30 p.m. with Denison taking on Godley, followed by Van taking on Lake Country Christian at 3:30 p.m., and Ardmore finishing the night against Douglass at 6:30 p.m.

Douglass is currently 3-2 on the season, while Godley is sporting an overall record of 9-13.

Denison stands at 17-3 this season, and has won six games in a row.

Van meanwhile sits at 4-7, while the Lady Eagles from LCCS are 15-8 this season.

On Friday, the games will begin at 12:30 p.m. with Van taking on Douglass, followed by Lake Country Christian against Godley at 3:30, and Ardmore taking on Denison at 6:30 p.m.

Ardmore will finish the tournament on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. against Godley, with Van taking on Denison in the second game and LCCS taking on Douglass in the opening game of the day.

Following this tournament, the Lady Tigers will be back in action next weekend in another tournament, taking part in the Anadarko Tournament from Anadarko High School before returning home on Jan. 9 to face off with Durant.

Another home game will follow on Jan. 12 against the Ada Lady Cougars.
