After playing host to the Holiday Classic tournament last weekend, both the Ardmore Tigers and Lady Tigers are hitting the road beginning today for more tourney action.

After playing host to the Holiday Classic tournament last weekend, both the Ardmore Tigers and Lady Tigers are hitting the road beginning today for more tourney action.

The No. 4 Lady Tigers will be taking part in the MidFirst Warrior Classic on the campus of Anadarko High School, while the No. 2 Tigers are traveling to Bartlesville for the Arvest Invitational.

Despite maintaining their undefeated start to the season at 9-0, the Lady Tigers dropped one spot in this weeks Class 4A poll, while defending state champion Harrah, Fort Gibson and Muldrow occupied spots 1-3.

Beginning today, the Lady Tigers will be in a field consisting of 5A opposition in El Reno and Del City, along with Fort Cobb-Broxton and Cyril from Class A, and Blanchard and Anadarko from Class 4A.

Ardmore will take to the floor this evening at 6 p.m. against the Lady Mustangs, who are currently ranked No. 7 in Class A with a 10-3 record.

The winner of this contest would meet either No. 7 El Reno or Del City at 6 p.m. Friday night in the semifinals, with the championship taking place on Saturday.

Cyril is ranked No. 11 in Class A, while Anadarko is No. 8 in 4A, with Blanchard ranked No. 15.

Following this contest the Lady Tigers will return home Tuesday night to take on Durant. 

As for the Tigers, they remained at No. 2 in the Class 4A poll this week, behind defending state champion Kingfisher, who is undefeated at 6-0.

Ardmore is coming off a 66-50 defeat against Class 6A’s No. 8 team in Putnam City West Saturday night in the finals of the Holiday Classic.

The Tigers (7-2) will be in the late game this evening at 8:30 p.m. in the opening round of the Arvest Invitational, taking on the Stillwater Pioneers. 

Stillwater enters the tournament with an overall record of 2-5, and has lost two out of its last three games.

The winner of this game will take on either No. 2 Carl Albert or No. 10 Del City Friday night at 8:30 p.m.

Ardmore and Carl Albert have already met once this season in Midwest City, with the Titans winning by a score of 54-49.

The other teams competing in the tournament field consist of No. 15 Southmoore, Bixby, Enid, and the host Bartlesville who enters with an overall record of 2-4 on the season.
