The annual Longhorn Invitational tournament at Lone Grove is about to commence.

This year’s edition will begin today with teams from across Oklahoma and one from Texas gathering.

On the girls side of the bracket games will begin today at 10 a.m. with the No. 5 Washington Lady Warriors (6-2) taking on the Lone Grove junior varsity Lady Horns.

Plainview’s Lady Indians (4-3) will take on OKC Centennial at 1 p.m. followed by the Marlow Lady Outlaws (5-4) meeting up against the Dickson Lady Comets (4-4) at 4 p.m.

The Lone Grove Lady Horns (5-3) will finish off the girls slate of games as they meet up with the Marietta Lady Indians in the night cap at 7 p.m.

The winner of the Washington/Lone Grove JV game will play at 4 p.m. Friday against the winner of the Plainview/OKC Centennial game.

Whoever wins the Marlow/Dickson game will take on either Lone Grove or Marietta at 7 p.m. Friday night.

As for the boys half of the bracket, the Plainview Indians (6-1) will be taking on the Knights (4-4) from Lindsay, Texas at 2:30 p.m. 

Marietta’s Indians (4-3) will get the action started at 11:30 a.m. when they meet up against Washington (5-3). 

The Dickson Comets (3-5) will be taking on the Marlow Outlaws in their opening round contest at 5:30 p.m., while the Longhorns (4-4) will be taking on No. 9 OKC Centennial (4-4) in the late game at 8:30 p.m.

The LG/OKC Centennial winner will meet either Washington or Marietta in the semifinals Friday night at 8:30 p.m. while the Marlow/Dickson winner will play at 5:30 p.m. against either Plainview or Lindsay.

Consolation games for the boys will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, and at 10 a.m. for the girls.
