Nita J. Champion was born on Aug. 10, 1934, in Ardmore to John Sam and Juanita (Paschall) Lively. She passed from this life on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, in Marietta. Nita was a graduate of Ardmore High School. She and Charles N. Champion were married in Ardmore on Nov. 22, 1953. He preceded her in death in July of 2010.
Nita loved her family, animals — especially her Yorkies, reading and traveling with Charlie. It didn’t matter if it was a long or a short trip, she loved traveling and being with her beloved. She was a member of the Bide-a-wee women’s social club that included many of her life-long friends. Nita was a person who never met a stranger. She was liked and loved by so many; she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her three sons, Charles Champion, III, of Oklahoma City, Tim Champion of Ardmore, and Scott Champion and his wife, Alicia of Oklahoma City. One daughter, Susan Champion of Oklahoma City, and one grandson, Cole Champion of Oklahoma City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Juanita Lively; husband, Charles; and brother, John Lively.
Pallbearers will be Scott Champion, Cole Champion, Mike Mordy, Dave Mordy, Tim Champion and Chris Craddock.
