William “Mike” McComber, age 71, of Yukon passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 in Oklahoma City. Mike was born on Nov. 16, 1946 in Ardmore.
He graduated from Dickson High School and went on to a 20-year career as a jet engine technician in the United States Air Force. Mike served in military tours in Vietnam, as well as Korea. He worked proudly on the stealth bomber while stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nev. Mike and his family returned back home to Oklahoma City in 1986 where he worked for the state of Oklahoma until his retirement in 2006.
Mike and Carolyn were married in the winter of 1977.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oma and Lester McComber of Ardmore; daughter, Denise Forrer; and sister-in-law, Sue McComber of Lone Grove.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn of the home; son, David of Marietta; daughter, Lisa of Marietta; daughter, Christie of Oklahoma City; seven granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy of Lone Grove; sister, Marsha of Ardmore; and brother, Eddie of Noble.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, 1500 W. Vandament Ave., Yukon, Okla., with full military honors presented by the United State Air Force Honor Guard. A private interment will be held.
