Alice Elizabeth Green, 75, of Ardmore, passed from this life on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018. She was born on May 12, 1942, to S. P. Tyner and Mildred Bridgeman Tyner in Madill. She lived in western Oklahoma and western Texas from a young age until 1956, when the family moved to Russett, Okla. Alice married Hoyt Green on May 17, 1959, and they resided in Oklahoma City until 1964, when they moved to Shawnee.
Alice worked as bookkeeper for an Office Supply Company and later as a bookkeeper for Oklahoma Tire and Supply until 1970. She enjoyed being a homemaker and enjoyed raising a garden and canning and preserving the vegetables and fruits grown in the garden. In 1978, she purchased a gift shop in Shawnee and grew it from a small shop to a large gift and specialty toy shop. Failing health and hip replacement surgery forced the closing of the shop in 1987. Alice loved to cook and entertain family and friends. Holidays and special occasions were her joy until failing health prevented her from hosting the family get togethers for the last several years.
She is survived by husband Hoyt Green, Mannsville; daughter Donna Henley, Little Elm, Texas; grandsons Joshua Henley and wife Kallie, Little Elm, Texas; Jeriah Henley and wife Kendra, Dallas; Jonathan Henley and wife Liz, Canton, Mich.; great-grandsons Copeland and Ridge, Little Elm, Texas; great-granddaughter Gray Henley, Little Elm, Texas; brothers Carlos Tyner, Tishomingo; Raleigh Tyner, Tishomingo; Neal Tyner, Oklahoma City; Sanders Tyner, Louisiana; sisters Betty Dewberry, Oklahoma City; Mary Smythe, Arlington, Texas; Lynda Travis, Austin, Texas; Patsy Neidigh, Tyler, Texas; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
