With just a number of weeks to go before they venture into the playoffs, the Ardmore basketball teams will get one last taste of tournament action this weekend.

With just a number of weeks to go before they venture into the playoffs, the Ardmore basketball teams will get one last taste of tournament action this weekend.

For the No. 4 Ardmore Lady Tigers (13-1), they will be traveling to Shawnee for the Shawnee Invitational tournament.

Ardmore will be in action tonight at 7 p.m. against Southeast in the opening round of competition.

Among the other teams in the field include El Reno, McAlester, and the host Shawnee Lady Wolves, who enter ranked No. 16 in Class 6A with an overall record of 9-3.

As for the No. 2 Tigers (11-3), they will be traveling to Moore for the John Nobles Basketball Tournament.

Ardmore will be facing off with the OKC Storm North squad today at 11:30 a.m., with the winner meeting either Douglass or Moore in the semifinals Friday evening at 8:30 p.m.

Douglass currently owns an overall record of 5-8 and are ranked No. 17 in Class 4A.

Moore is 5-6 overall on the season.

Other teams in the tournament include ranked 6A teams in No. 15 Southmoore (7-5) and No. 1 Broken Arrow (11-1). The other ranked team in the field is No. 6 Millwood from Class 3A.

Durant is the other team rounding out the field.

Both Ardmore teams will be back in action after the weekend on the road against Duncan Tuesday night Jan. 23.
