The service celebrating the life of Rozelle Hill Campbell of Marietta is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, in the Eastside Baptist Church of Marietta. Her grandsons, Shane Norton and Griff Servati, will officiate. Interment in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, will follow under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.
Rozelle was born in the Shady Dale community of Love County on July 22, 1929, the daughter of James Conrad Hill and Jay Imogene Terrill Hill. She passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 88.
A graduate of Marietta High School, Rozelle had been a resident of Love County most of her life. She and Robert H. “Bob” Campbell were married in Gainesville, Texas on Jan. 29, 1947, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1997. Rozelle retired as office manager of the Love County Health Department after 29 years of employment. She was a charter member of the Eastside Baptist Church and served as church clerk and Sunday school secretary for 40 years. In addition, Rozelle was a member of numerous social clubs including the bridge club, the Golden Girls, the Red Hat Society, Friends of the Library and the local library book club. She also delivered goods from the local food pantry to area residents monthly. One of her greatest pleasures was the many trips she took with her family and attending her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s activities.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by a son, Jim Bob Campbell and wife, Tabby of Marietta; two daughters, Barbara Norton and husband, Ronnie, also of Marietta and Deborah Campbell and husband, Jud Deaner of Tempe, Ariz.; brother, Jimmy Terrill Hill and wife, Sue of Ardmore; sister, LaJuana Sue Handschin and husband, Danny of Lafayette, La.; five grandchildren, Kristi and Griff Servati, Robert Shane and Amy Norton, Aaron and Jenny Rudd, Telina Rudd and Ariel Deaner; and 13 great-grandchildren, Raigan, Kerrigan, Jaidan and Kailan Roze Servati; Abby Grace, Reese, Meleah, Campbell and Lincoln Norton; and Ethan, Ava, Miles and Cohen Rudd.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Shane Norton, Aaron Rudd and Griff Servati; nephews, Ron Stewart, Daniel Handschin, Jason Handschin, Chris Anthony, Rob Hill and Jimmy Reynolds; and cousins, Parker Terrill and Billy Norcross.
Honorary bearers include her cousin, Billy C. Hill and dear friends, Wayne and Barbara Bond, J.H. and Cookie Hayes, Bob Brannan, Jim and Shirley Tye, Jerry and Linda Harper, Jerri Langford and Albert Bearden.
Time of visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
It was Rozelle’s wishes that memorial contributions be made to Eastside Baptist Church – 107 N. Fernwood Ave., Marietta, OK 73448.
