Memorial services for James Robert “Jimmy” Lemons, Jr., are scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Dr. Rick Baggett officiating.
Jim was born Nov. 25, 1953, in Oklahoma City to James Robert and Violet (Mullins) Lemons Sr. He passed from this life on Feb. 7, 2018, in an Oklahoma City hospital.
Jim graduated from Choctaw High School, where he excelled in football, basketball, baseball and track. He also graduated from Oral Roberts University, where he attended on a baseball scholarship. He had quite a baseball career starting with the Kiwanis baseball state champions 1969 and 1970 and Choctaw High School baseball team state champions in 1972. He played at ORU from 1973 to 1976.  
Jim loved doing anything outside - fishing, camping, gardening and even working in the yard.
He is survived by his fiancé, Jean Gordon of Ardmore; mother, Violet Lemons of Tecumseh, Okla.; children, Tara, Trevon, Rachael, Rebekah, Katie and Shawn; siblings; Tim Lemons and Cyndiy Rector both of Tecumseh, Okla.; six grandchildren; and Justice, his special furry friend.
He was preceded in death by his father on Sept. 5, 2017.
Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the 1969 and 1970 Midwest City Kiwanis baseball teams; 1972 Choctaw baseball team and the 1973 – 1976 Oral Roberts University baseball teams.
