Jack Leroy DeWitt, 82, of Shawnee, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018. He was born on June 30, 1935 in Baxter Springs, Kan., to William DeWitt and Iva Beulah DeWitt.
Jack was a pastor for 54 years and taught the word in Ohio, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma. He also served his country for 6 years in the Army. Jack was a faithful member of FBC, Tecumseh.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rowena Ogden; and brothers, Glenn DeWitt, Bob DeWitt and Johnny DeWitt.
Jack is survived by his wife, Janette DeWitt; children, David DeWitt, Jonathan DeWitt and his wife, Shelly, Beth Turner and her husband, Lee, Jennifer Johnson and her husband, Jeff; brother, George DeWitt; six granddaughters; one grandson; two great-grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at First Baptist, Tecumseh with Tony Peak officiating.
