Funeral services for Chester Lemons, 83, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with Chaplain Matt Benedick officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
 The son of the late Bill Lee Lemons and Bernice Elizabeth (Vaughan) Lemons, Chester was born on July 24, 1934, in Soper, Okla., and passed away on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at a local nursing facility.
An Ardmore resident the past 17 years, Chester moved here from Altus, Okla. His early years were reared in Soper, Okla., until his family moved to Dodson, Texas when he was around 10 years old. Chester graduated from Dodson High School in the class of 1951.  In 1954, he and the former Vickie Whitfield were married and had four children. Chester later married Mary Wallis on April 8, 1983, in Vernon, Texas. He had worked with several stores over his work career as a meat cutter.
Chester is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; sons, Kerry Lemons and Shawn Lemons; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Gary Lemons and Walter Lemons; and sisters, Mozell Matlock and Wanda Estes. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Odell Lemons.  
Services are entrusted to the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home & Crematory.
