Charlotte Lee (Day) Rutledge passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Ardmore after a courageous fight with cancer. Her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Ardmore. The Rev. Donny Custer will officiate at the service. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore. A family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday, March 2, 2018.
Charlotte was born in Ardmore on Nov. 17, 1944, the eldest daughter of Clarence “Son” Day and Lois (Herwick) Day. She graduated from Ardmore High School. She married the love of her life, Jamie Rutledge, on Aug. 30, 1963.  
Charlotte and Jamie owned and operated Rutledge Auto Service Inc. for 35 years here in Ardmore, serving people from southern Oklahoma with their automotive needs. They retired on April 30, 2014.
Charlotte was a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Ardmore. She loved spending time with her boys, her grandchildren and recently, her great-granddaughter, along with other family members and friends.  
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence “Son” Day and Lois Day Hambay; her stepdad, Glen L. Hambay; her only sister, Janet Ramsey, and her husband, Ronnie; her son, Randall Lee Rutledge; and two brothers-in-law, Ed West and David Rutledge.
Survivors include her husband, Jamie, of the home; two sons, Greg Rutledge and wife, Robin, of Lone Grove and Jeff Rutledge and wife, Kandy, of Ardmore. There are three grandchildren, whom she dearly adored, Morgan Johnson and her husband, Clayton; Justin Rutledge and girlfriend, Emma Meeks; and Jace Rutledge. Her great-granddaughter, Giulia Johnson also survives. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Connie West and Mary Ann Rutledge.  
In addition, Charlotte is survived by her two stepsisters, Sherri McBride and her husband, Dave, and Pam Harris, and her husband, Randy. She is also survived by a stepbrother, Greg Hambay and his wife, Tami, and many other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be family members, Greg Rutledge, Jeff Rutledge, Justin Rutledge, Jace Rutledge, James Rutledge and Clayton Johnson.
