Paula Sue Michael Koenig, age 61, passed peacefully in an Oklahoma City hospital with family standing by. Paula, a lifetime resident of Ardmore, suffered a severe brain aneurism early on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, and passed that evening.
Paula was born Aug. 8, 1956, in Ardmore, to William Cleveland Michael and Billie Jackqueline Michael. Paula grew up with her brother, William Howard Michael; long-time neighbors, the Sharp family; and especially enjoyed the company of her first best friend, Cynthia (Shane) Sharp Risner. Paula was a self-described flower child who shared ear piercing, tie dye, bell bottom jeans with patches, toe rings and as she would say, “hippy” influences with her friends. She loved being barefoot, listening to classic rock, collecting teddy bears and white tiger decor, motorcycling, loving on her pets and working as a care giver. Most of all, she loved being a grandmother to Joshua, Corbin and Maddison.
Paula is survived by her mother, Billie J. Michael; ex-husband and friend, Marcus Koenig; daughter, Lauren Koenig Williams; and grandchildren, Joshua Sunshine Koenig, Corbin Faulkner and Maddison Koenig.
Paula is predeceased by her grandfathers, Cecil (Pete) Michael and Paul Jones Speake; grandmothers, Vera Michael and Matilda Jane Speake; father, William Cleveland Michael; and son, Jesse Sunrise Koenig.
An informal gathering with finger foods will be held in celebration of Paula’s life. The celebration will be held at 2 p.m., on Sunday, March 18, at Pecan Grove at Lake Murray. Please feel free to prepare and share your tributes in celebration of Paula Sue’s Life.
