After claiming a state title last season, the Plainview Lady Indians golf team has sent a clear message in their first two tournaments of the season.

They aren’t ready to let go of the top spot just yet.

Tuesday afternoon, Plainview made it 2-for-2 in tournaments as the Lady Indians “A” team won the Purcell Invitational with a team score of 326, while the “B” team finished in third at 365.

On Monday, Plainview’s teams took first and second in the opening tournament of the season at Chickasaw Pointe Golf Course in Durant. 

“A” team members included Katie Finley (77), Adeline Norton (79), Reagan Chaney (84), Hallie Schultz (86) and D.A. Smith (86). Plainview placed four golfers in the top-10 individual standings.

Lady Indians “B” team members included Tory Townley (87), Lindyn Ross (89), Addie Yollerian (96), Carrie Hutching (93) and Jessica Zimmerman (103).

Representing Sulphur at the tournament was Jordan Goodman (95) and Emilee Handy (110). Davis was represented by Cloee Graham (131) and Emme Terrell (145).

Ardmore girls golf finished with a team total of 405, with Kalie Davis leading the way at 96. Other Lady Tigers golfers included Kacy Benson (100), Malie Glaser (100), Chole Reasoner (108), Katie Long (109), and Erin Guynn (125). 

Dickson was represented at the tournament by Maisie Liddell (89) and Baylie Hughes (98).
