For the past two years, Staci Lambert has hosted a fundraiser for local dog rescues and the animal shelter. Lambert said she has been involved with dogs her whole life. Last year, she accepted a board member position with the Ardmore Animal Shelter. That move prompted her to ‘lean into her desire to work with dogs full time,’ she said. Now she and her husband Matt run Barktown, a doggy daycare and boarding facility.
The annual fundraiser, formerly called the Fast and the Furriest, will be held alongside a grand opening event for their new business.
Lambert said The Ardmore Animal Shelter will split the proceeds of the event with two local rescues, Forever Friends and Stray Dog Ranch.
Raffle tickets will be available for prizes up to $500 in value. Some of the prizes include tickets to local attractions and gift certificates. Some of the participants are Arbuckle Wilderness, Scarborough Faire, Eileen’s, Urban Air, the Stag, Ten Star. Frank Buck Zoo, Pure Romance. Any donated items will also be distributed among the participants. Food will be provided by Landmark Bank as well. There will be dogs available for adoption at the event.
