It is with much love and full hearts that the family of David Michael McCaslin announces his passing. Born on June 5, 1948, in Cushing, Okla., and returning to God on Sunday, April 1, 2018, He was nearly 70 years old and just a few weeks from retirement. His younger years were joyful and blessed, raised by loving parents and enjoying the company of his three younger siblings. Dave met his lifelong sweetheart, Mary Sue Holder at Healdton High school. They graduated together, class of 1966. Their college years at Southeastern in Durant, Okla., exhibited his great dedication to their future as he aced his classes, worked multiple jobs and completed a degree of BS in Business Administration. They wed in June 1969, the summer between their junior and senior years, in a beautiful ceremony making their love story official. The next four-year adventure took Dave and his bride into full-time military service where Dave worked mostly in nuclear weapon maintenance in Heilbronn Germany. Lifelong friendships were developed during that adventure and preparing Dave for his professional endeavors. The couple returned to Oklahoma, settling in Tulsa and enjoying lots of fun with family members. They welcomed a son, Michael, into the world in 1980. Dave was known by all to be the most devoted nurturing and loving father. He coached ball teams and led scouts instilling responsibilities and work ethic. His entire professional career was devoted to only two different companies, the first was in the wholesale grocery business until 2000. The next journey was to Harker Heights, Texas, where Dave was a Principal Consultant for a software company, PDI. In the words of PDI, everyone who worked with Dave “would attest to the spirited effort and joy he brought to the team.” In 2015 Dave and Mary Sue established their residence in Lone Grove to be close to family and enjoy growing old together while continuing his career working from home. They built their dream home and spent countless weekends with their three young grandchildren enjoying a beautiful, full and wonderful life. Through his final moments, he was a devoted husband, sacrificially loving his wife. His passing was unexpected and medically sudden. Dozens of family members prayed his body into passing at the hospital bedside.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice McCaslin and Dowanna Fay Braine.
