Judy Patricia Wallace Ball passed away on March 20, 2018. She was born March 24, 1929, in Beggs, Okla., and was one of seven children of William R. Wallace and Ray A. Barker. Her brothers, Jerry, John, and David, and her sisters Janice, Jo Ann and Jack precede her in the house of the Lord.
Services for Judy will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at the First Baptist Church in Ardmore with Dr. Alton Fannin officiating.
Married to Paul Bryan Ball on March 22, 1952, in Oklahoma City, Judy lived a happy and productive life with her husband. Paul preceded her in death on April 24, 1991. Judy and Paul moved to Ardmore in 1957. Paul was a masterful geologist who worked in the petroleum industry, and, for his entire career, Judy was his executive assistant. She was also a member of the Geologist Wives Club. Of course, most of her time was devoted to being a perfectly wonderful mom and wife.
Upon Paul’s passing, Judy dedicated ten years of her life to working at the Arbuckle Drug and Alcohol Information Center as an executive assistant. She retired in 2002, having assisted countless men and women in straightening out their lives. The joke about Judy is that she would simply tell those seeking advice to “Snap out of it!” Of course, the truth was far different. She was there to help with life and spiritual advice. Judy spent valuable hours counseling those who sought her advice by preparing them for job interviews, financial matters, and dating recommendations.
Many will remember that Judy was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Ardmore. Her faith in God was a testament to her life. She was also an invaluable member of her Sunday adult group. For her family and those who knew her best, her greatest attribute was her inner resilience, which was based on her faith. Judy may have had difficult days, but few, if any, ever knew.
Judy is survived by one loving son, a daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters. She was very proud of all of them. Her first son, of whom she is also very proud, Bryan Patrick Ball of Austin, Texas, preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 2010. John Paul Ball, his wife, Alicia and their daughters, Emma and Elly, currently reside in Chandler, Ariz.
