The Greater Southwest Historical Museum has partnered with The Southern Oklahoma Library System and Ardmore Public Library to bring master storyteller John Hinkle to Ardmore for the hundred year centennial of World War I. The event will be held at the Museum at 5:30 p.m., Thursday April 19.
Museum Director Admiral Wesley Hull said Hinkle used to dress up as various characters and give historical programs. Hull said the museum has partnered with the libraries to bring Hinkle from Florida for the event.
Hinkle will have WWI historical memorabilia on display during his presentation.
Hull said the museum also has an extensive collection of memorabilia from WWI, including uniforms and other artifacts. Hull said the public is welcome to attend along with students from Ardmore High School and Murray State College history classes. Refreshments will also be provided.
