Warner B. Austin, 82, passed away Monday April 16, 2018, in Duncan, Okla. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday April 21, 2018 at the Don Grantham Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Boyd officiating. Interment will follow at the Tatums Cemetery, Tatums, Okla. Warner was born Nov. 10, 1935 in Tatums, Okla., to Lillie Belle (Hotchkins) and James G. Austin. He graduated in 1956 from Tatums High School and then joined the United States Army. Following his discharge from the Army, he was employed with Ryder Trucking, receiving many safe driver awards and plaques for his “over the road” driving skills and competency. Warner married Gladys Giddens on April 11, 1961, in Columbus, Georgia. She passed away March 30, 2004. Gladys and Warner had one daughter, Allison Genene Austin, born Nov. 10, 1964, and also three sons, Rodger, Harold and Lawrence. Allison passed away right before her mother, Feb. 17, 2004, and Harold also preceded him in death. Warner moved to Duncan, Okla., in 2010 to be near his sister, Dorothy Austin Alexander, now deceased. Survivors include a brother, Don Carlos Austin of Los Angeles, Cali.; two sons, Rodger Hudson, of Conyers, Georgia, and Lawrence Hudson and spouse Patricia of Brea, Calif.; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
