A former Davis teacher who filed a marriage license with a Davis student in December has been arrested on felony charges.

Cassandra White has been arrested and charged with four counts of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology. Davis Police Chief Danny Cooper said White was arrested at her residence at 5 p.m., Tuesday, then transported to the Murray County Jail without incident. Bond has been denied.

White, a former Davis High School teacher, resigned last December after filing for a marriage license with a 16-year-old student in Cleveland County on December 13, 2017. Davis Police Department released a statement shortly after, stating that the teenager’s father was present when the license was filed and Davis Police Department was investigating. The license was never picked up or completed, according to online court documents.
