Robert Randal “Randy” Grissom was born March 3, 1957, in Ardmore, to John William “Bill” and Anna (Stringer) Grissom. He passed from this life on May 8, 2018, at his home on Lake Texoma with his wife Gail, of 38 years, and several close friends by his side.
Randy was a 1975 graduate of Ardmore High School and attended the University of Oklahoma. At OU, Randy was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. As one might guess, he was a huge Sooner fan. On March 8, 1980, Randy married Gail Motsenbocker in Norman. Randy then returned to Ardmore to the family business, Lincoln Bank & Trust, where he was a loan officer and co-owner. He later started his own business.
Randy loved the outdoors including camping, hunting, fishing and being on Lake Texoma. He also loved his animals and always had multiple dogs and cats. He was a member of the Ardmore Animal Shelter Board and was instrumental in the establishment of the new spay and neuter clinic.
Randy is survived by his wife of the home, Gail; mother, Anna Grissom of Ardmore; uncle, Bob Grissom of Ardmore; sisters, Nancy Wilson and Cathy Bolding, both of Oklahoma City; cousins, Page Grissom Worsham of Lone Grove, and Alex Grissom of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla. He was preceded in death by his father, John William “Bill” Grissom.
A memorial service for Randy is scheduled for Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Daniel officiating. A reception will follow at the same locale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the Ardmore Animal Shelter, 321 Carol Brown Blvd., Ardmore, OK, 73401.
