On Tuesday morning at approximately 9:40 a.m., Ardmore Police Officer Chris Mata responded to a call in the 1200 block of 6th Avenue NE in reference to a disturbance.
APD Capt. Keith Ingle said an intoxicated neighbor allegedly assaulted the victim after breaking into her apartment.
The alleged perpetrator, Jim James Williams, 36, of Ardmore, was arrested at the scene. Williams was charged with public intoxication, breaking and entering, and assault and battery. Formal charges were filed with the Carter County District Court. The misdemeanor charges filed by the District Attorney’s office include unlawful entry, assault & battery and public intoxication.
Bond was set in the case for $1,100. Williams pled not guilty before Judge Carson Brooks Wednesday. Brooks set the disposition hearing for July 10, 2018. Brooks also issued a no contact order as to the victim. Williams is currently released on the conditions of his bond.
