It was hot weather and hotter putters at Lakeview golf course over the Memorial Day Weekend as the Ardmore course hosted a two-ball golf tournament that saw scores dive well below par.

Professional golfers at the top of their games will post tournament rounds in the 60s, and in Ardmore, area two-ball teams in the Championship flight combined to post several rounds that threatened the 50s.

Trey Payne and Jason Meece combined to win the Championship flight, posting a pair of 62s to take first place. 

Brynson Lance and Zak Pool posted a tournament-low 60 in the second leg after finishing with a 65 in the first round to take second place in the championship flight.

Carson Lindsey and Justin Nard took third place after firing a second-round 61 following an opening round 68 in the tournament. 

In the President’s Flight David and Derek Leandro claimed first place, shaving seven strokes off an opening round 72 to post a final round 65 to claim the tournament title. 

Jim Avery and Derek Johnson shaved 10 strokes off an opening round 75 to also post a 65 to claim second place in the President’s flight. 

Robert Morgan and Brandon Hawkins posted a two-round 141 to claim third place in the President’s flight.

In the Vice President’s flight, Richard Walters and Coffman bounced back from an opening round 81 to post a final round 69 to take first place. The Hunter and Potext pair took second tying Ferguson and Ingram after each team posted a 152 in the tournament.

Sixty-eight golfers in total competed in the three flights of the Memorial Day weekend tournament.
