Many new restaurants will be opening their doors in Ardmore over the course of the next few months.
Caddo Street BBQ Company will celebrate its grand opening on July 4, and its inaugural day hours will be 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. So far this is the only location with an official opening date, but according to Assistant City Manager Kevin Boatright, others will soon be following.
The next to open will be Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant which is located on South Commerce in the former location of KC’s Smokehouse. They are planning to open within the next two weeks.
Popeye’s, located in front of the Shops at Ardmore on North Commerce, is also slated to be open soon.
“They are almost complete,” Boatright said. “I know they had to do a couple minor operations, but they expect to be open here in the next two to three weeks.”
Swadley’s BBQ, located off 12th Street near Interstate 35. has an anticipated opening mid August. The final location opening soon will be Wendy’s, which does not yet have an opening date. However they are making steady progress and have recently installed the restaurant’s gas line.
In addition to the new restaurants, new locations for established businesses are scheduled to begin construction by the end of next month. Outdoor Powersports will be building a new location off of Merrick Drive, and Orscheln will be moving to a new facility on Rockford Road.
Finally, the building that housed the former Luigi’s near the corner of B Street and Main Street will be coming down.
“We’ve been in contact with the property owners,” Boatright said. “He lives here in Ardmore but he works out of state. There has been some contact via phone and email, so they are supposed to submit a demolition plan soon. My understanding is that they will get together with the city at the latest by the end of next week.”
