Once again citizens and tourists alike have the opportunity to see a dazzling display of fireworks both in the sky above and reflected upon the waters of Lake Murray.
The annual tradition will take place on Independence Day, Wednesday, July 4, at sunset (approximately 9:15 p.m.) To reach the viewing area, take Scenic State Highway 77, otherwise known as Lake Murray Drive, into Lake Murray State Park. Turn east at the former park office, then take a right at Lem Roberts Road. This road leads to the R.C. Flying Fields, the designated parking area. This location, along with many others around the lake offers ample parking space and fantastic views.
“We are happy to have the community support to again provide the funding for this annual tradition,” Ardmore Tourism Authority President Mita Bates said. “Without the partnership with financial supporters and the wonderful staff at Lake Murray, this spectacular show would not be possible.”
