World War II veteran and member of the Greatest Generation, James Floyd “Jim” Pippin, 94, passed away June 26, 2018, at his Ardmore residence.  Jim was born Aug. 29, 1923, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Harley George Pippin and Ethel Mae (Manion) Pippin.
During World War II Jim proudly served in the U. S. Army.  A Technician 5th Class, he saw service in England, France, Germany, Panama, Manila and Japan, with the 3071st Refrigeration Company, and was honorably discharged.  
Jim moved to Ardmore from Oklahoma City in 1946.  He and the former Joyce Elaine “Liz” Sargent were married June 25, 1946.  They celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary this year.
A repairman with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., Jim was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Masonic Lodge.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce “Liz” Pippin, two sons, Paul Lee Pippin and Dennis Johnson; grandsons Jason Pippin and Justin Pippin, granddaughters, Ashley Harris and Michelle Baker; six great-grandsons, two great-granddaughters and one on the way.
Private burial services will be Tuesday, July 3, 2018, in Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, under the direction of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
