Multiple agencies are investigating a fatality that occurred Friday night at the Carter and Love County line.
Dispatch received an emergency call just before 11 p.m. Friday. Both the Love and Carter County Sheriff's Departments responded due to the location of the scene, on Lodge Road just east of Interstate 35.
Carter County Sheriff Chris Bryant confirmed that a woman was declared dead at the scene, though the details of what led to the woman’s death are unclear.

“We arrived around 11 p.m. Friday night on a report that a woman was hit by a vehicle on Lodge Road,” Bryant said.  Bryant told the Ardmoreite that the Love County Sheriff’s office assisted with the scene, though the incident occurred just over the Carter County side of the boundary between the two counties.

Bryant said his office is working alongside the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s accident reconstruction team to determine what happened.
The investigation as to what caused the death is ongoing.
