Services for Peggy Peery, 60, of the Greenville community are set for 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, in the Chapel of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta, with Pastor Mike Sampson officiating. Graveside services in the Overby Cemetery, Pocahontas, Ariz., will follow at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11.
Born Oct. 10, 1957, in Pocahontas, Peggy was the daughter of Rudolph and Girdie Ezel Williams. She passed away Friday, Aug 3, near Overbrook.
Peggy attended school in Pocahontas and had been a resident of Love County for the past eight years, previously making her home in Carter County. She and Richard Don Peery were married April 12, 2014, in the Lake Murray Chapel. Peggy’s most recent employment was as a waitress at Lake Murray Lodge. Peggy loved the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing or gardening. She was an avid gardener who loved growing all types of vegetables, especially a variety of tomatoes and peppers with which to make spicy foods. Peggy also enjoyed cooking for her family. Her specialties were spaghetti and fried chicken. She also loved her dalmatian “Summer,” Ford Mustangs, and dancing. Peggy was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Clifford Williams; sister, Fern Jones; and two nephews, Fulton Houston and Brian Jones.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Don Peery of the home; two sons, Sean David Gage and wife LesLee of Marietta and Curtis Wesley Shaver of Forney, Texas; daughter, Rachael Alane Gage of Marietta; three stepsons, Nathan Peery and wife Bobbi and Bryan Peery of Ardmore, and Devyn Peery of Leon; two stepdaughters, Mariah Peery and Marissa Peery of Ardmore; four sisters, Diane Scherrer, Rosie Houston and Joan Stone of Arkansas, and Dora Ann Garcia of California; and 10 grandchildren and another on the way.
Casket bearers will be Devyn Peery, Nathan Peery, Sean Gage, Rod Peery, David McComber, Marvin Peery, Justin Peery, and Scotty Peery. Honorary bearers are Curtis Shaver, Troy Brannon, and Benjamin Clevenger.
Arrangements are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.
