Ardmore police responded late Tuesday night to the scene of an alleged assault in the 1200 block of NE Washington. By Thursday, charges of kidnapping were filed in the case.
APD officer Brandon Cathey reported he met with the victim, who alleged she was assaulted by a boyfriend who “forced her into a vehicle before driving to a secluded area.” According to Cathey’s report, the victim was able to get away and make contact with relatives who picked her up.
The report indicates the victim sustained minor injuries.
Early Wednesday afternoon, APD Sgt. Larry Payne reported the suspect in the assault, Xzeal Laronn Hudson, 27, of Ardmore, left a residence on North Washington on foot. Hudson was arrested initially on charges of domestic assault and battery. Charges were sent to the District Attorney’s office for review on an additional district felony charge of kidnapping. That charge was later formally filed in Carter County District Court on Thursday.
The initial appearance in the case was heard before Carter County Special District Judge Carson Brooks. Brooks set a $10,000 cash bond in the matter. A no contact order was also issued as to the alleged victim in the case.
The preliminary conference for the matter is scheduled for October 4.
