Graveside rites for Constance Aline “Connie” Coburn will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, at the Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, with Reverend Bruce Kirby officiating.
A time of visitation and support for family and friends will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Wednesday evening at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
The daughter of the late John Nelson and Goldie Mae (Carrion) Nelson, Connie was born on Aug. 27, 1923, in Pawhuska,  and passed away on Aug. 13, 2018, in an Ardmore nursing facility.
An Ardmore resident since 1961, moving here from Ada, Connie grew up in Pawhuska and graduated from Pawhuska High School. She and Harold E. Coburn were married on Aug. 28, 1962. Harold preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1997. Connie was a private home caregiver and member of the Dickson First Baptist Church. She enjoyed having her hair fixed and considered her home as her castle. She and her sister, Billye, were known around Ardmore as the walking sisters.
Survivors include her children and spouses; son, Wayne McWhirt and wife Deanna; daughter, Pam Taber and husband Charles; son, Buster Johnson and wife Amanda; grandchildren, Mike McWhirt and wife Vanessa, Jeff Brunken and wife Monica, Shannon Russell, Tracy Brunken, Dani Kelley, Mathew Johnson and wife Jill, Levi Johnson, Jonathan Johnson, Gabe Johnson and wife Amber, and Benjamin Johnson; 23 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren; step-grandchildren, Michelle Green and husband Butch; Tony Peery and wife Michelle; 10 step-great-grandchildren and 12-step-great-great-grandchildren. Connie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Tommy, sisters, Twyla Ray, Jean Champagne, and Billye Nelson.
