Over the weekend, the Ardmore Lady Tigers endured an exhausting time at the Plainview Invitational, playing four games in one day.

Monday afternoon though, the Lady Tigers were full of energy and in the winning mood once again.

Ardmore used a pair of four-run innings to set the tone early, eventually leading to a 12-4 victory in six innings against Chickasha at the Ardmore softball field.

The Lady Tigers (8-6) will be in action today in a district doubleheader against Santa Fe South in Oklahoma City.

Despite the large margin of victory for Ardmore, it was Chickasha taking the early lead in the top of the first inning at 1-0.

Reagan Lewis tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom half of the inning when she scored off a throwing error, before Lauren Blankenship blasted a two-run home run to center field, giving the Lady Tigers a 3-1 lead.

Kalie Douglas finished the first inning off with an RBI groundout.

The Fighting Chicks responded with a run in the top of the third, but Ardmore had a response.

Emma Nightengale sent a bloop single down the first base line, landing just inside to score a run, before Angelina Bruner got a ground ball to result in an error, allowing Douglas to score to make it 6-2 for Ardmore.

Nakayla Coleman then helped bring home two more runs when a throwing error at first base allowed Nightengale and Bruner to score to make it 8-2.

Savannah Marris and Bruner put the Lady Tigers on the brink of victory with a sacrifice fly and RBI single in the bottom of the fourth at 10-2.

However, Chickasha managed to get a pair of runs in the top of the fifth to prolong the game.

Ardmore though eventually got its run-rule victory in the sixth when Nightengale slapped an RBI single to center, before Bruner collected the walk-off RBI single.

Morris took the win in the circle for Ardmore, throwing six innings. She allowed four earned runs on 14 hits with two walks and five strikeouts.
