Healdton Police Officer Erik Fox responded to what at first appeared to be a routine traffic stop Monday night.
Upon making contact with the driver, Fox said he could smell marijuana.
“The subject admitted to smoking marijuana within the last hour,” Fox said, adding that she then handed over a small amount of cannabis, which prompted Fox to investigate further.
A search revealed both “rocks” and a loaded syringe of what appeared to officers to be methamphetamine. The substances have been sent for testing. At initial inspection, it looked to be about 3 grams of methamphetamine and a 10 cc loaded syringe, Fox said. The stop occurred around 11 p.m. on 4th Street near the school and library in Healdton.
Charges filed in Carter County District Court show the subject as Adrian Katherine Alexandra Tidwell, 26, of Lone Grove. The initial charges filed by HPD include possession with intent to distribute within 2,000 feet of a school, possession of CDS/marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and obstructing an officer.
Felony charges have been filed in district court, with the preliminary hearing conference set for October 11. Bond for Tidwell has been set at $10,000.
