After seeing their lead atop the district standings disappear earlier this week, the Plainview Lady Indians were finally able to let out some frustration on Thursday afternoon.

After seeing their lead atop the district standings disappear earlier this week, the Plainview Lady Indians were finally able to let out some frustration on Thursday afternoon.

Four innings were all that was required for the Lady Indians to snap their four-game losing streak as they won 17-7 against Thackerville at the Plainview softball complex. 

The Lady Indians scored five runs in the first, followed by six in the second, five in the third and one in the fourth.

Thackerville managed to make the game interesting with seven runs of its own in the top of the third.

Taryn Martin led the Lady Indians going 3-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored and three RBI, while Riley Grant also had three RBI while going 1-for-3 at the plate.

Leah Selenksy was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI, with Tatum Brewster going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI.

Brooklyn Storts and Brooke Castillo also had two RBI in the game for Plainview, while Jenna Jennings and Lexi Hackney had one RBI.

Grant got the win on the mound for Plainview, throwing four innings. She allowed seven runs (0 earned) on five hits with three walks and three strikeouts.

Plainview is back at home at 3 p.m. today for a district game against Byng.

Speaking of rolling in district play, the Sulphur Lady Bulldogs are doing just that at the moment.

Thursday afternoon the Lady Bulldogs got their fourth district win in a row and seventh overall as they shutout the Pauls Valley Lady Panthers at home to move to 17-5 overall and 6-2 in district play, one game behind Lone Grove.

Sulphur scored two runs in the first, third, fourth and fifth innings to claim the victory.

Macenzie Ruth led the offense for Sulphur going 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBI.

Kinlee Duck, Ally Dixon, Blakelyn Barber, and Kady Lynch all had one RBI in the game for Sulphur.

Harley Beesley got the win in the circle for Sulphur, throwing five innings of work. She allowed just two hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

Sulphur is back in action on Tuesday against Davis. 

Lone Grove 6

Another team on a winning streak right now is the Lone Grove Lady Horns, who won their third straight game Thursday afternoon with a victory over Durant on the road.

Lone Grove broke open a scoreless tie in the top of the fourth with four runs, before Durant came back with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning.

The Lady Horns managed to plate one run in the fifth and seventh innings to seal the victory.

Shelby Stevenson had a pair of solo home runs in the game for Lone Grove, as she went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Paige Anderson also had an RBI in the game for the Lady Horns.

Emmy Guthrie got the win on the mound for Lone Grove, throwing a complete game. She allowed one earned run on two hits with one walk and 11 strikeouts.

Lone Grove (12-4, 6-1) is off until Tuesday when the Lady Horns host Ada.
