Donald Ray Godwin, 73, of Ardmore passed away peacefully Thursday Aug. 23, 2018, surrounded by his family.
He was born Nov. 23, 1944, in Grayson, Texas.  
He was a brave and honorable man and served in the Vietnam War.  On Dec. 24, 1987, Donald Godwin and Gayle Clevenger were married.
He retired from Uniroyal/Michelin, and in 2001 moved to Ardmore. Don and Gayle spent their years in the city riding their bikes on beautiful Oklahoma days and watching his granddaughter Sarah grow into a beautiful woman.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Chester and Dorothy (Cleeton) Godwin of Ardmore. He is survived by a loving family: his wife Gayle (Clevenger) Godwin of Ardmore, his son Cory Wade Godwin, his daughter-in-law Jennifer (Harper) Godwin, and his granddaughter Sarah Godwin, of Lone Grove,  his sister Susan (Godwin) Coffee of Mineral Wells, Texas, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In accordance to Don’s wishes, a service will not be held. Don is a man who will be missed and remembered.  The family is appreciative and thankful for the many prayers of healing, comfort, and understanding.
