A Gathering of Remembrance for Patsy Ann “Pat” Pemberton, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory.
The family will host a time of visitation and support Monday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home.
Following an illness, she passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, in Edmond, at the residence of her daughter, Victoria Pemberton Neafus.
Pat was born in Ardmore, on Sept. 17, 1935. She grew up in Ardmore and graduated from Ardmore High School, the class of 1954. She and James M. “Jim” Pemberton fell in love and were married Feb. 5, 1955, in Burkburnett, Texas. They were happily married for 52 years when Jim passed away Nov. 9, 2007.
Pat was a person who made everyone laugh and feel welcome in her home. She never met a stranger and often sought out “interesting looking” people because she knew they had the best stories. She had high morals and a few weaknesses, especially playing cards. The thing she hated the most about getting older was not being able to be on the tennis courts or the golf course and had to resort to enjoying a good match on television.
Pat supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. She was always seeking fun and could make a detour a great story! Pat truly loved life!
Pat is survived by her daughter, Victoria Pemberton Neafus and husband, Blake of Edmond and her grandson Luke Neafus. Also, Laura Kalesnik of Dallas, and her two children, Kate Fundis and Reid Fundis, plus nieces, a nephew and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents George D. Harris and Ruby Nell Joiner Harris and sister, Bette Parsons.
Since Pat supported St. Jude Children’s Hospital we suggest that memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home, where condolences may be sent the family online at  www.hdouglasfuneralhome.com.
