Also, for the second consecutive game, it was Shelby Stevenson coming through with a big hit.

Stevenson smashed a home run for the second time this week, finishing with four total RBI’s as the Lady Horns kept their grip on first place in district 4A-3 with a 9-3 victory over Pauls Valley at Glenn Wendt Field. 

Logan Graves and Abbi Atkinson got the Lady Horns going in the bottom of the first when Graves hit a hard ground ball, resulting in an error and allowing Stevenson and Taylor Mason to score.

Atkinson did her damage with an RBI double to center field which scored Noa Dodson. 

Stevenson stepped up again in the bottom of the second inning and hit a three-run home run to right field, giving Lone Grove a 6-0 lead. 

Maci McMurtrey brought home the Lady Horns seventh run of the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the third. 

Stevenson finished off her day in the bottom of the sixth with an RBI single to left field which scored Emily Burns.

Emmy Guthrie then brought home Stevenson with an RBI single to left. 

Pauls Valley attempted to rally in the top of the seventh with three runs, but the Lady Panthers offensive output fell short. 

Guthrie got the win on the mound for Lone Grove, throwing a complete game. She allowed three runs (0 earned) on three hits with one walk and 15 strikeouts.

Lone Grove (18-5, 9-1) will continue district play Thursday against Plainview on the road beginning at 5 p.m.
