WILSON — For the second week in a row, it was a 50-point performance for the Wilson Eagles.

Only this time it was perhaps one of their biggest wins as an eight-man program.

Wilson managed to overcome an early deficit and overwhelm the Fox Foxes, moving them to 4-0 with a 52-26 victory at Skinny Stewart Stadium.

Fox came out of the gates swinging as William Miller had a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to start the game, giving the Foxes a 6-0 lead in the first quarter.

However, the Eagles came right back as Logan Schaaf tied the game with a three-yard touchdown run, before Hayden Mantooth gave Wilson the lead with a two-yard touchdown run to end the first quarter.

Fox managed to comeback though in the second quarter with a touchdown and a two-point conversion, putting them back in front at 14-12.

Once again though, it was the Eagles coming back thanks to a Schaaf, this time though it was Trevor Schaaf with a six-yard rushing touchdown, before brother Logan converted the two-point conversion to make it 20-14.

Mantooth got his second touchdown of the game in the second quarter, this time from two-yards out before Logan Schaaf got the two-point conversion to make it 28-14.

Fox appeared to be gaining steam before the end of the first half when the Foxes got another touchdown and two-point conversion to make it a 28-22 score.

But, it was the Eagles who went into the locker room with momentum as Trevor Schaaf got a 15 yard touchdown run to make it 34-22 at the half.

Fox began the third quarter with a rushing touchdown, cutting the deficit to 34-28.

Wilson though took control with Trevor Schaaf getting a 10-yard rushing touchdown to make it a 40-28 game.

In the fourth quarter, it was all Wilson.

Logan Schaaf connected with Carson Fulton on a 10-yard touchdown pass to make it 48-26, before Trevor Schaaf converted the two-point conversion.

It was Trevor Schaaf finishing off the game with a seven-yard touchdown run before converting the two-point conversion.

Tyrees Davidson, Jimmy Bivings and Miller had the other touchdowns for Fox in the contest.

Trevor Schaaf finished the game leading the Eagles with 24 carries for 184 yards rushing and four touchdowns, with Logan Schaaf carrying the ball 19 times for 127 yards and one touchdown.

Logan Schaaf finished the game passing for 114 yards and one touchdown on a 5-of-9 performance.

Luke Honea was the leading receiver for the Eagles with three catches for 70 yards.

Wilson (4-0) is on a bye this week and will return to action on Sept. 28 at home against Maud, while the Foxes will be at Tipton at 7 p.m. Friday night.
