Friday afternoon, the Lady Horns made their way to Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond for a special contest against Tulsa Union.

Five innings was all that was required for Lone Grove to earn its 22nd victory of the season with a comfortable 8-1 victory over the Lady Redskins.

Lone Grove scored eight runs in the second inning to claim the victory. 

Logan Ketchum got the scoring started with a three-RBI triple to right field, before Maci McMurtrey brought her home with an RBI triple to make it 4-0.

Emmy Guthrie, Abbi Atkinson, and Logan Graves then hit a succession of RBI singles to increase the lead to 7-0, before Atkinson later scored on a passed ball to finish off the inning.

Union got its only run of the game in the top of the third inning. 

Guthrie got the win on the mound for Lone Grove, throwing five innings of work. She allowed one earned run on three hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts.

Lone Grove (22-6) will play its final regular season game at Duncan on Monday, before hosting the regional tournament, which begins on Thursday at Glenn Wendt Field.
