Formal charges were filed in Marshall County District Court against Harold Andrew MacNeil, 38, of Calera.
MacNeil was arrested Tuesday morning after Madill police reported locating his vehicle near a residence in the Carter Lake area. MacNeil is charged with a felony count of murder in the first degree with deliberate intent for the alleged shooting of a 36-year-old male subject who was found deceased early Tuesday morning in a bedroom in the 100 block of East Wolf Street in Madill.
MacNeil also stands accused of two felonies in another Marshall County case for unlawful possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm after former felony conviction. That case was previously set for preliminary hearing on October 23. Court records for the previous matter indicate MacNeil was convicted of possession of CDS in Williamson County, Texas in June 2006 for which he was sentenced to four years in the Texas State Penitentiary.
Bond has been denied in the matter of the first degree murder charge. MacNeil will be represented by Ardmore attorney Eric Jones at the preliminary conference in the matter set for November 15.
