A 25-year-old woman, who used a beer bottle to bash the head of another woman she believed was her rival for a man’s attention, was apparently mistaken and that mistake cost her her freedom Tuesday when she was arrested on pending assault and battery with a dangerous weapon charge.

Carter County Undersheriff Milton Anthony said the 25-year-old was arrested following an interview with deputies. Anthony said the victim identified the woman as the person who attacked her Saturday night at Tenbuck 2.

“She bashed another girl in the side of the head with a beer bottle and blackened both her eyes,” Anthony said.

According to reports, the beer bottle came into play when the woman wrongfully identified the victim as a rival.
