Tishomingo —

A man was stabbed “at least seven times” when he attempted to break up a dispute that got out of hand.

Police arrested 22-year-old Wesley Samuel Minor, Milburn, in connection with the Saturday afternoon incident at the South Byrd Apartments parking lot. Police were notified after Bradley Black, 32, Tishomingo, was taken to Johnston Memorial Hospital emergency room for medical attention.

Authorities were told Black and some companions gave Minor a ride to Tishomingo from a Milburn bar. Black told police Minor “go mouthy” and was ordered out of the car at the parking lot. Minor and Sonny Beesley began arguing as the group attempted to find out where Minor wanted to get out. The two got out the car at the parking lot and a fight started. Black stepped in, trying to stop the altercation and was allegedly stabbed by Minor. His companions broke up the fight after realizing Black had been stabbed. Minor fled.

Police were notified after Black reached the hospital. He was later transferred to Mercy Memorial Health Center, Ardmore, and was released Monday. Doctors treated eight knife wounds in his neck, back and shoulder, according to the police incident report. Officer said Minor was carrying a knife when he was arrested.

Minor was arrested near Tishomingo Middle School. He jailed on an assault and battery charge. Associate District Judge Robert Hightower set Minor’s bond at $100,000 pending a June 9 preliminary hearing.
