Johnston and Love are among 23 Oklahoma counties eligible for federal disaster assistance due to spring storms.
Gov. Brad Henry said President Bush approved the state’s request for special assistance to help pay for infrastructure repairs and response costs related to flooding, tornadoes and other severe weather during April.
Preliminary estimates show nearly $22 million in damage from storms during March and April to county roads and bridges. Federal disaster assistance was authorized earlier in the week for 13 Oklahoma counties impacted by March flooding.
