A 20-year-old Davis resident received multiple injuries late Wednesday when his motorcycle ran off a county road and tumbled more than 120 feet after overturning.
Oklahoma Highway Patrolman Tracey Laxton said Billy Trenton Lance Daugherty was admitted to Norman Regional Hospital in stable condition with head, arm and leg injuries following the crash 2.6 miles southwest of Sulphur on a county road. The crash was reported at 10:20 p.m.
According to the OHP incident report, Daugherty was traveling west on a county road when his machine ran off the south side. The vehicle overturned, traveling 129 feet before coming to a stop.
Daugherty was transported to the Arbuckle Hospital helipad by Murray County EMS and airlifted to the Norman trauma center by Air Evac.
Trooper Laxton said unsafe speed was a factor in the crash. The operator was not wearing a helmet.
Murray County Sheriff’s Office and Sulphur Fire Department assisted.
