An area woman went to jail Thursday night after having at least one drink too many and allegedly going on a shoplifting spree at a local business.
Officers were called to the business, located in the 1100 block of South Commerce Street shortly before midnight. The owner of the business said several items of merchandise were missing along with cash.
During the investigation, officers noticed the 41-year-old suspect walking in front of the business. She was arrested when she admitted she had been inside and was actually wearing some of the apparel the owner had reported stolen.
She was taken into custody on pending burglary and public intoxication charges.
